
Yoga Certification Training
at Sol Academy
Sol Academy offers a comprehensive 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program designed for those looking to deepen their understanding of yoga and functional fitness. This program also provides essential business skills, empowering graduates to pursue teaching opportunities confidently. Participants leave the training prepared and ready to teach, having practiced teaching with peers in an inclusive and safe space. The curriculum caters to multiple intelligences, ensuring all learning styles are accommodated. Additionally, the program covers functional fitness and includes fundamental business training to support graduates in establishing successful teaching careers in their local communities.
Sol Academy’s course equips you with a holistic understanding of yoga, enhances your functional fitness expertise, and empowers you with the essential business know-how to thrive as a unique, well-equipped yoga teacher in your community.
Upon completion of this training, you will have the tools to:
Design programming for a variety of yoga class styles
Embrace your creativity when designing yoga sequences
Provide physical adjustments or movement cues to students
Lead guided meditation and breathwork practices
Manage a classroom of students safely and effectively
Give back to your local community by teaching a variety of traditional and contemporary yoga classes

This training is 100% in-person and will consist of eight (8) weekend-long immersive training experiences. There will be assigned reading and recommended observation opportunities outside of our scheduled class times.
Our classes are in-person. We find it so important to see real bodies move, to explore how we move together, to teach corrections, and to build community.
During our time together, we will engage in stillness and meditation, lecture-style learning, practical exploratory practices, and a variety of movement-based activities
Our classes at Sol Academy are thoughtfully crafted to accommodate all learning styles, employing a curriculum centered around Multiple Intelligences theory. This approach ensures that every student can fully engage with the material and excel in their learning journey.

Bluegrass-raised Sunny Bayne's life revolves around a few passions: friends, family, fitness, and her enduring love for horses. Introduced to riding on her grandfather's farm at age 10, she discovered her calling in connecting with these majestic animals. Despite facing injuries in 2004, Sunny's journey through rehabilitation ignited her passion for fitness, leading her to become a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. With additional certifications in yoga, youth exercise, corrective exercise and online training, she founded Sunny Bayne Fitness, fostering a vibrant community focused on wellness and support. Expanding beyond her initial gym space, Sunny established Sol Fitness in 2022, aiming to create a welcoming haven for holistic well-being. Living in Lexington, KY, with her wife Stephanie, daughters Mia and Simone, three dogs, and four cats, Sunny's dream includes adding horses to her family soon.

Erin is a highly accomplished yoga instructor, locally known for her versatility, challenging yet adaptive style, and unwavering support - on and off the mat - for every student and client. Erin began her own yoga practice in 2007 and earned her RYT-200 to begin teaching others in 2017. She has since gone on to earn her Advanced Yoga Teacher Training from the Asheville Yoga Center, Yoga Alliance Continued Education Provider certification, and as a lifelong learner, Erin has added various other credits to support her students and community, including a trauma-informed facilitation certification.
Aside from leading Lexington’s most transformative and inclusive yoga classes, Erin also owns and handcrafts each mala and piece of intention jewelry in her bespoke collection, Sage + Strand. When Erin is not on her mat or raising her vibration through intentional craft and community involvement, you can find her nestled in her Lexington cottage with her cat, Sage, or enjoying time with her friends + family.
Transform Your Practice
Sol Academy’s Yoga Teacher Training, starting June 7, 2025, is a transformative program designed to meet the rigorous standards of the Yoga Alliance. In partnership with the Kentucky Yoga Collective, we offer expert-led educational experiences that prepare students to teach yoga confidently and effectively.
Materials: Each student will receive a comprehensive Yoga Teacher Training instruction manual, along with additional surprises to support their educational journey. Required reading and other optional materials will be provided after acceptance into the program.
Location: All classes will be held at Sol Fitness, located at 2473 Fortune Drive, Suite 140 in Lexington, Kentucky. This private personal training studio provides the ideal setting for yoga students, offering a safe and inclusive environment for learning how to incorporate functional movement into their yoga practice.

$3,300 with a $300 non-refundable deposit paid upon acceptance into the program to reserve your spot. A discount of 10% ($300) will be applied to all students choosing to pay in full upon acceptance.

As part of our commitment to increasing diversity, creating safe and inclusive spaces, and encouraging more representation and opportunity within our local fitness and wellness community, we are offering a $500 BIPOC scholarship, a $500 LGBTQ+ scholarship, and a $1000 Light the Way scholarship to attend our Yoga Teacher Training.
All scholarship applications will be reviewed by a blind panel of fitness experts, yoga teachers, wellness professionals and community members. Scholarship recipients will be chosen by this panel based on the applicant’s responses and their goals and intentions of supporting access and inclusivity in our local community through yoga, after certification.
A Graduation Gift
To support our commitment to ensuring our graduates are career-ready, each graduate of our Sol Academy Yoga Teacher Training will receive a professional photoshoot with Sabrina Hounshell of Seriously Sabrina Photography.

BIPOC Scholarship
The goal of this $500 BIPOC scholarship is to extend access to teacher training to communities that have been historically excluded. By extension, we hope that this scholarship, and this training as a whole, contributes to a positive shift in our local community and the yoga industry.
